About Us

We are Christians striving to grow closer to God, to encourage each other, and to shine the light of the Lord in the city by teaching His word and living His way. We are multi-racial, come from multiple nations and states, and speak multiple languages. However, God has brought us together as a family through his grace.

Our congregation does not belong to a denomination or follow a creed. We are SIMPLY CHRISTIANS who aim to know the truth about God and His love for us and to serve Jesus.

What to Expect

Our assemblies follow the simple pattern found in the New Testament (Acts 2:42):

  • We pray together

  • We sing together (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16)

  • We share the Lord’s Supper on Sunday mornings

  • We study the Bible together

  • We take up a collection to support our spiritual work (1 Cor. 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 9:7). You may give if you want, but we do not ask you to, nor are you obligated.

What We Believe

  • The Bible is the word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17), given to guide us and light the path we are called to walk (Psalm 119:105). It is how God has chosen to reveal His will and His desires for how we are to live and worship Him. It searches the heart and has the power to transform lives (Hebrews 4:12). Most importantly, it proclaims the good news of how we can be saved from sin and receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16).

  • Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31), the divinely appointed King who made all things and rules over all (Colossians 1:16–17; Acts 2:36). He is God made manifest in the flesh (John 1:14; 1 Timothy 3:16), who came to earth to proclaim the good news of His kingdom (Mark 1:14–15) and to offer salvation to all through His death on the cross (Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24).

  • We are offered salvation by the grace of God through faith. It is not based on our own works or anything we have earned or accomplished. It is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8–9). When rightly understood, this gift motivates us to live out our created purpose, which is to walk in the good works prepared by God (Ephesians 2:10). God's grace is never an excuse to continue in sin, but a powerful reason to live faithfully and obediently to Him (Romans 6:1–2).

  • Water baptism, through full immersion, is a powerful work of God (Colossians 2:12), in which He washes away our sins and raises us to a new life in Christ (Acts 22:16). It is a moment of surrender, where we die to our old ways of sin and commit ourselves to live for God (Romans 6:3–4). In baptism, we call on God to extend His grace, and it is a vital part of accepting the gift of His salvation (1 Peter 3:21).

  • The church is not a meeting space or manmade organization. It is the people of God. It is a diverse people, made up of every tribe, race, and language, all united in Christ. When functioning as God intended, the church becomes a visible witness to the world and a place where people can come to know God. It is designed to be a community where members build one another up and offer mutual encouragement toward spiritual growth (Hebrews 10:24–25; 1 Thessalonians 5:11). Under the leadership of Christ, we grow together in love, maturity, and purpose (Ephesians 4:15–16).

  • We desire to worship God in a way that is pleasing to Him and modeled after the example of the early Christians found in the Bible. Guided by the commands and patterns revealed in Scripture, we strive to shape our practices according to God’s will, worshiping Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24; Colossians 3:17). We look to the devotion of the early church, who continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching, in fellowship, in the breaking of bread, in singing to the Lord, and in prayer, as our pattern for worship (Acts 2:42; Ephesians 5:19).

Curtis Cook

Curtis has been preaching and teaching for the Boston church since 2021. By God’s providence, he went to a Christian college - not to study the Bible but to play baseball. However during his time in college, Curtis became a Christian. Through his experience, he learned that it is possible to read the Bible and understand it. He is thankful that God has enabled him to guide others on their spiritual journey to understand the Bible and God’s will for their lives.
